Any boss fans bought the new album yet? I have to say, I think it could be his best of the last 25 years (toss up between this and the rising). There's one or two tracks that don't really work (the last track is a poor rip off of ring of fire) but on the whole there's some really great stuff. A lot of it sounds like Bruce's take on the Seeger Sessions stuff, but with more rock.

I don't really get why when there's so much going on in the world politically, economically etc, and hardly anybody seems to be writing about it. I can really relate to some of the stuff he's singing about on this, particuarly death to my hometown. If you're a bit of a super fan, or even just a fan, it's pretty sad listening to Clarence's sax solo on Land of Hope and Dreams, and there's a touching tribute in the sleeve notes. I do wish his sax graced more of the album, but that can't be helped, and it's still great.

Probably others will think differently, but I really can't get over how much I love this album. 8)

I'm a fan, but haven't listened to it yet. I'm gonna check it out now! Thanks for posting about it. Loved his Seeger Sessions stuff.

After the rave reviews, I thought it'd be musically better than it is. I know this sounds trivial, but a lot of the drums sound weedy.....

I'm enjoying it myself. Strong songs and good backing.

Think the lyrics of the title track are a bit clumsy though. I know Bruce Springsteen is no right winger, and is the thinking man's patriot, and a good guy. But still. Remember what happened with 'Born in The USA' and Ronald Regan appropriating it.

Do you mean Wrecking Ball or We take care of our own RP? I know what you mean, but WTCOOO has really grown on me, it sounds great on a good stereo. I know he changed producers for this one, and it's so nice not having to put up with the brickwall production that's plagued the last few albums. 8)

Yeah sorry I meant 'We Take Care Of Our Own'. It's a good song for sure. Bit of a flag waving lyric though. But then, that's up to him I suppose. And we all know he's a good guy.
