really enjoyin this album, covers of some great 50's/60's songs, the likes of which I'd imagine would sit very well with Richard Hawley fans and of course the man himself. All with incredible Jeff Lynne production/performance...

Not listened to this yet or seen the Later/Jools Show.

I was 8/9 when i could hear my brother playing his ELO albums in his room, it was such a big sound coming through from 'Discovery' & 'Out Of The Blue'.

I ran home from school the day 'Time' was released knowing my Bro' would be bringing it home with him.

I was torn as my other brother was playing Madness & The Jam in our bedroom.

Friday nights were good, they where out and i used to play all the records (vinyl of course) while finishing off the left over wine & beer they'd been drinking when getting ready to go out on the piss.

Any Hoo,enough of memory lane, i'll have a listen. 8)

he's also released a new best of ELO on which he has completely re-recorded everything so that the songs are the same but the production is of modern day standard, might not to be to everyones taste, i know a lot of people love the old production and vinyl sound but i actually think it sounds fuckin amazin and a real tribute to how good his songs were and how good his production skills are today.. his voice arguably sounds better today than it did back then. There was a documentary on BBC4 over the weekend, well worth a look back on the iplayer:
