Heard Richard's programme on BBC 6 Music today and now have SERIOUS earworm of Smiley Lewis's 'Someday'. Didn't know him so thank you for introduction - also downloaded 'I hear you knocking' by Dave Edmund's Rockpile which was the first record I bought with my Christmas money in 1970!

He was an awesome talent I have loads of his music,the track I played is called"Someday"there is a massive cd box set Bear family records have released I've got my eyes on.

Am listening to a download and have got to Ann Cole (never heard that) Really enjoying your anecdotes and passion Richard. Not heard The Monkey in a few years and been playing it on repeat.

The Ann Cole version of mojo is awesome I came across it a while back great version and sadly Unknown in the big picture and development of that song,it was written by Preston"Red"Foster another largely unsung great talent.....the Monkey raises another alternative to Darwinian theory ins very unique way
