I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Definitely 'Coles Corner' By Richard - plus, of course, 'Valentine' which I adore but doesn't seem to have been getting nearly enough airplay. What the heck? All his songs are brilliant!

From the past:
Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty
Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues
Layla - Derek and the Dominoes/Eric Clapton
White Rabbit - Jefferson Airplane
Make It Easy On Yourself - Walker Brothers
Your Sweet Love - Lee Hazlewood

and there are a lot of others - some already posted on here

Big Star - September Gurls or Beach Boys Good Vibrations, both are sublime. Jeez it's hard to only pick one or two. Valentine is apt this week. A cynical marketing ploy Richard??

Oh good choice Jon! I read somewhere that the take that was released was not the one that Elvis had chosen - the Colonel arranged it behind Elvis' back - I'd love to know which version Elvis had picked himself (if the story is true that is!) 8)

Indeed,Elvis had ear-marked take 6 for release a much more soulful version of the song in his opinion with the instrumentation toned down and certainly no faded ending.Colonel Parker often gets the blame for this one but it was in fact RCA's decision to try to capture the 'live' version of the song
