Stumps A Fierce Pancake is available on iTunes for download - probably the only way to buy it these days.

(Ignore the Stump Uninvited album - it's not the same group at all).

I love Stump, me.

Recently burned up their entire output onto two CDs, and it's a blinding experience!

Quite why no-one has the sense to put this stuff out again is beyond me.

It was on the 12 inch - "...in fabulous Stump-O-Rama!"

Believe me they have been asked to put it out again, and to re-form but they won't. A couple of my friends know/are related to group members and they have been trying to talk them into it. And if a miracle happens I'll keep you all posted.

Do you mean they won't put it out, or they won't reform, or both?

Kev Hopper's site...

http://www.spoombung.co.uk/

...used to have a line on it somewhere to the effect that if any record label was interested in putting out any Stump CDs then judging by the interest he kept getting there ought to be the demand.

They had a little get together at a surprise party for the band's drummer - they didn't play (well not at the party, they did a bit at home the next day but between them they couldn't remember a great deal of the words or the music!!)

And yes, it's more down to lack of record company prepared to deal with it.

I bet someone like James Nice at LTM would give it a go:

Or failing that, how about Cherry Red?

Fantastic!

I ordered that immediately, and would urge interested parties to do the same. There's not much out there like Stump, unless you're into Beefheart...and there's so much of that, and it's a bit hit-and-miss.

Stump, on the other hand - two discs cover the lot...sort of.

Now, how about a Peel sessions disc?
