Thanks for a great evening all, and seriously impressed with the guitar playing Mark.

Listened to the new EP on the way home.... :Hoorah

I too can confirm that that Egg is alright, for a R*th*rh*m bastard. :D

That Roaming Son EP launch was one hot night. You can grab yourself a copy here: http://roamingson.bandcamp.com/album/bl ... -hands-e-p

Next for me is Jason & The Scorchers at The Greystones on Thursday.

Tramlines was my latest jaunt- absolutely great weekend. Mr L was his usually ridiculously talented self in all sorts of rock/blues rockabilly guises. I'm really looking forward to the Delines and a shit load of other gigs coming up soon.

Posting from Cambridge...

Saw Norwegian bonkers folk-pop Katzenjammer and loved them to bits, so have booked to see them in November.
Also saw bluegrass/Western swing/old-timey band The Stray Birds and got a ticket to see them in Stafford later in the month.

Before that I'm off to Texas in a couple of weeks to see Robbie Fulks and Redd Volkaert at the Mucky Duck in Houston :)

Just on my way back from Houston, Texas, where I saw and played some music.
On my first night there I ended up sitting in with a zydeco band - The Zydeco Dots - for half a dozen songs.
Thursday I had the delight of seeing Robbie Fulks and Redd Volkaert at the fantastic Mucky Duck Pub.
Friday it was zydeco all the way - firstly watching Lil Nate and the Zydeco Big Timers in 100 degree heat at downtown plaza, followed by Rubén Moreno at Jax's Grill, a great working class hang out with the most incredible Cajun food....

Typing this from Philadelphia International Airport waiting for my flight to Manchester. Photos to follow when I get home.

My escapades in Texas -

Lil Nate and the Zydeco Big Timers played "That L'Argent" in Downtown Plaza, Houston, Texas -

The temperature was 100 degrees plus and people were dancing while the rest of us loitered in the shade.

Lil Nate -

The night before, I went to see Robbie Fulks and Redd Volkaert play the Mucky Duck Pub

We (Elvis Fontenot) played Towersey Folk Festival this weekend and I got to see the fabulous Rob Heron & the Teapad Orchestra amongst others.

If country-swing is for you, Mr Heron is your man -
