Sarah Shook & the Disarmers at Night & Day in Manchester. Saw them in Groningen a week or so back, but they are worth a full outing. They've been on the road for a few weeks and are as tight as anything. Good responsive crowd too on a rainy Thursday in Manchester.

My Darling Clementine at Stoller Hall in Manchester - the venue had great sound and sightlines, but was somewhat cold and brutal. Excellent reinvention of MDC songs with assistance from students at Chetham's School, including Michael and Lou's daughter Mabel, who I've known since she was a toddler!
