On Saturday September 11th, WagonWheel Presents... brings a mighty triple bill of band action to The Grapes stage. From 8pm and for just a mere £3, come treat your ears to the sonic delights of The Clench, Tom Campbell & The Fontana Instincts and Grassoline.

***THE CLENCH***

...The Clench deliver whiskey-fuelled, blues-swamp-funk-country rock, to put it in a not very small nutshell. The six piece band have caused a bit of a stir on the Sheffield live circuit since unleashing their debut EP 'Pain Don't Hurt'. They aim to make 'music to ride horses by' and their sound conjures up images of Western desert landscapes and cowboys. There are hints of the likes of Calexico and Chris Isaak, and the band have recently been spending time in the studio working on the follow up to that debut EP.

***TOM CAMPBELL & THE FONTANA INSTINCTS***

Tom Campbell is a singer-songwriter from Derby. After joining forces with The Fontana Instincts (Jim Widdop [whom some of you will recognise as player of pedal steel and more in The Cold Light Of Day], Tom Kitchen, Magdalena Komorowska) in late 2009, the band are looking to record their debut album in 2010. They;'ve been playing a string of dates over the summer and road testing ‘nearly a million’ different for the record.
Opening the show will be Derby's Tom Campbell. Often accompanied by The Cold Light Of Day's Jim Widdop on pedal steel, he was last in Sheffield when he played at The Weight at The Shakespeare as part of the Tramlines festival. Exepct infectious Americana influenced tunes influenced by the likes of Neil Young and Band Of Horses.

***GRASSOLINE***

Chesterfield's Grassoline play a bluegrass influenced brand of alt-country featuring guiter, dobro, fiddle, mandolin and more. They proved a big hit when they last joined us in January and we're looking forward to more of the same.
