Already a breathtakingly fantastic live band, Danny and the Champions of the World have been going from strength to strength over the last year. This is a great chance to catch them on their Pubs Rock Tour, with support from folk rockers Billy Vincent.
The new album Hearts and Arrows sees Danny plug in his Stratocaster, gather together a rocking band and transport us back to the days of seedy dives, circa 1979. The follow up to last year's acclaimed album, Streets of Our Time, is one of the year's best releases, drawing comparisons with everybody from Tom Petty to Springsteen's E Street Band.
Check out what the press had to say about Hearts and Arrows:
“Danny Wilson is turning into one of those artists he has venerated – Ryan Adams, Mark Olson, and Bruce Springsteen even.” **** The Times
“A dusty, wistful, sepia-toned postcard from an imagined past, slots right in between peak Kerouac, Pat Garrett-era Dylan, and Crosby, Nash, Stills and Young.” **** Mojo magazine
“A thunderously exciting third album.” Word magazine (Best of 2011)
“Lovely, improbably elegiac stuff.” **** Uncut magazine
“The real thing…they are the champions.” ****Q magazine
