RH and the boys supported by Wilko Johnson was a fantastic show - Iveagh Gardens has a great natural amphiteatre and holds a few thousand comfortably. (My profile pic was taken there a few years back at one of the comedy festivals they also hold there)
I've seen Wilko Johnson three times in the last few years - he played the same festival as yours truly in Kilkenny a few years back, just before he announced his cancer - and he clearly wasn't well and that not surprisingly reflected in the performance. Since then I've seen him on fire at Cambridge Folk festival in 2015 and last night he and the band were clearly having a great time. Wilko remains the consumate showman.
Wilko pictures first (I've not finished editing the RH ones yet)

...and of the five gigs that I've seen RH and the band play this year, this was up amongst the best. Great crowd, great venue, good sound out front (I know that the acoustic guitar was over loud in the monitor!). Pity I had to get up at 5 to get my flight back - although Gordon the guitar tech must have had to do similar, because he was on my flight to Manchester....
Next up on the 2016 RH tour - Fibbers! My FB acquaintance Daniel Lucas (Boss Caine) is supporting, so I'm doubly looking forward to that.

Try the long hall on georges street. great guiness.

We did on the Saturday - I was asked for directions by some tourists....luckily we were only 50 yds away and saw the canopy down the road...so sort of looked knowledgeable saying 'yep - down here a bit on the right' in my semi Scouse accent...then went in the bar and asked if they sold Guinness...I really know how to make myself look a dick at times...

...the Guinness was good...I would have stayed but was drawn back to Devitt's...

We saw The Graveltones at Rough Trade Records in Nottingham a few weeks ago at their live vinyl album release.

Its a very small venue, but had a great atmosphere and were sponsored by a brewery so they were giving away free beer! Not that I had any mind you ;-)

Great night, really good band, first saw them support Rival Sons last year.

Next thing we will see is Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan at the Lyceum in Sheffield in No Mans Land. I know its not music but 2 great actors coming to Yorkshire, might be the last time the 2 of em are on stage together if this year carries on the way its going :?

Next up was Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison at the Greystones. Stuart Basford, who was promoting the gig, remarked that he'd been trying to get them to come over for 15 years - I'm glad, for one, that he succeeded. Bruce is a songwriter with a great CV - penning hits for George Strait, the Dixie Chicks and Faith Hill/Tim McGraw amongst others. Kelly has just got a classic country voice.

Next? Lincoln Center Out of Doors Roots of American Music series in New York, then North Shropshire Cajun and Zydeco festival - followed by Morrissey at Manchester Enormodome.

Ooh sorry - he's just a legend and no harm intended. If you want me to remove it, I'll do so.

EDIT - I've taken them down.
