Bugger off
Never touched the stuff in my life.
However. Yes. Buckfast is a really cheap, really crap wine. Its main target market is people who wear white Lacoste tracksuits and lots of Burberry and say "Awww wit!" or "NAW!" when you walk past. I have never known a single person to drink it at home, and pubs don't sell it. It only exists on street corners and in parks.
Just somehow ended up reading this damning critique of the mighty Buckfast. Nowhere near as bad as all that....I've drunk it in quantity before now and it has admirable qualities. Sure it's long been associated with gentlemen of the road and other assorted jakeys but that can be a recommendation in its own way
Tonic wine made by monks - what could possibly go wrong? Few years since I had some like and that was when I was also consuming what were then £1.99 bottles of sherry from safeway in Aberdeen so mebbes Buckfast benefitted from this perspective.
Never tried another Scottish tipple, Electric Soup - Irn Bru and Brasso!
