Sorry Sunnypetal, but I'd rather shave my balls with a blunt rusty spoon than watch that grunting load of tosh. It's one of those 'rich mans' games that you have to have the financial back up to get anywhere. Tickets at Wimbledon get snapped up and touted round the champange tossers and you'll pay a tenner for 3 strawberries with rancid cream!

I was a McEnroe fan back in the day though!!!

I hate Wimbledon - spoils the summer - long winded, boring and those flash tennis racquets mean that you can hardly see the ball anymore. When I was a kid it used to cause 10 mile traffic jams all the way from Wimbledon to Fulham, even in the 1970s...... I even prefer cricket

Borg V Mcenroe 1980 Wimbledon Final is the finest sporting confrontation ever. No contest. At all. "End Of".

I still remember watching this when it was on & I watched it all on youtube a bit back. 2 extremely contrasting temperaments, the match swung one way from the off in the brat's favour, then the other way, Borg goes 2- 1 up, a humdinger of a fourth set going to something like 20-18 in the tie break with Mcenroe defending numerous match points til he grabbed it, then Borg nabbing the extended fifth after Mcenroe had defended *8* match points in all. That was proper drama all the way through. For 4 hours. I couldn't care less how rich the participants are or what their background is when it's that good.

It's crap now though. No characters.

I think the appropriate response to that picture is "why don't they get a room?" It's all repressed homoeroticism you know. Not that I mind, I wish they'd just admit it.

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.
