Red wine is just soooooo good although it is easy to be pretentious about it.
Our friends moved to the Dordogne area late last year and have been busy sampling the local wines looking for good quality and good value. A recent return to the UK by car saw them bring with them many bottles of Bordeaux wines and several 3L boxes of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Despite my reservations the box wine is superb and at 5.67 euros a go for the Merlot (equivalent to about £1.10 a bottle) me and Mrs Longpigsdad have no complaints - just blurred memories!
We fly out to Limoges next week to help our chums with the relentless sampling ........... Can't come soon enough!
