anybody doing anything for charideee? or do people think it's a load of toss churned out by desperate hasbeens (as some hard faced journo said on sky news the other morning)?

we're having a non uniform day at school and i've been warned by the harridan of a boss that i've got, not to go over the top with what i'm going to wear.

so i think it'll be the kilt, red t shirt, leather jacket and possibly red nail varnish and lipstick if i'm feeling in touch with my feminine side on friday.

On our non-uniform days, the staff aren't allowed to dress down. Suits and ties all the way.

yes, i don't think they're expecting what they're going to get from me as it's the first non uniform day they've had since i've been there. but, hey, it's for a good cause and a laugh isn't it?

Charity is one thing.......but why do they have to have a week of "unfunny" programmes. Martin Lewis - that's just cheap advertising for him in the hope that someone remembers him.

It's also the day when everyone who has no sense of humour suddenly decides "you have to laugh, it's for charideee".

I have some political issues with a lot of charities - should the things that Comic relief supports really be dependent on charity or should rich countries - and whatever anyone says, credit crunch or not, we're a fucking rich country compared to these places which will be in an even worse state. there's always money for guns and not for giving folk a decent way of life.

I prefer to decide what charities I support without having to wave a flag about it.

Mind I am bitter. The first year of Comic relief I stayed up spcially to watch The Bed Sitting Room which they'd advertised then around 1.30 they said they'd decided to cancel it and I'd sat through fucking Lenny Henry all night!

If you enjoy it have a great day. I'll avoid it like I would the plague.

I think this one is geared more towards kids - they love it, it was great to see hordes of them going to school with their red noses on this morning! :D

My dad and his two friends raised £494 by spending their day in work dressed as Scooby Doo, Captain America and the Jolly Green Giant :*:

To young ladies at work got dressed up as Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen...

I went round saying Jayne's dressed as Lily Savage - what a mistaka to maka! - no sense of humour these young 'uns...

Some deep seated Freudian slip on my part tho' - I'm off for some therapy at the local offie...

Skillfully managed to avoid the tripe on TV tonight. Good cause & all that, but all the 'comedy' is a bit hard to bear :cyclops:

I quite like dippin' in and out of telethon style charity events but with age I no longer sit and watch from start to finish...

Some comic performances can be like looking at the night sky - flashes of brilliance surrounded by the blanket of montony that is deep space...

Last night comic relief clashed with a few prgrammes about Rough Trade -which I fell into after a few ales and stuck with to the end...

Watched a few minutes here and there, but Like Poppy Dog, there were other things I wanted to watch. The bits I saw were heartbreaking (as were most of the 'comedy' slots). Donated the cost of our usual weekend meal out and stayed in - had a few/too many glasses of wine, then felt really guilty and made another donation but don't know how much as I've not had a receipt yet  :*: Guilt is a wonderful thing!

We have a nusery on the site where I work and the nursery nurses took the kids for a 'sponsored walk' right past my office window.

The kids were dead cute, they'd all been told to wear red clothes and had their faces painted - so i ended up hanging out of the window chucking money into tins.

I couldn't be bothered with the tele 'tho - Davina shouting and unfunny sketches got right on my nerves.
