In many ways it's a load of old bollocks thought really isn't it? I don't think any artist expects to make a living from the likes of Last.fm and Spotify. They're promotional tools that will hopefully lead to people buying CDs/going to gigs.

As for the 'label revenue' figures in relation to downloads. What about artists who don't have a label, or are their own label? The head of the article makes out as though it's in relation to a singer/songwriter trying to get by, yet most of the figures it chucks in as examples bare more relation to somebody like U2!

You're also forgetting their trout farms, expensive guitar collections, underage chimneysweep business's, their monthly pimp money, selling aughtographed condiments and the friday fruit and veg stall in Castle market! :roll:
