Heard a programme on the radio the other day, about library music - heard all the time over stuff on TV etc, but never credited. Hailing from the 1960s lots of it is instantly familliar & some pieces end up as theme tunes to regular shows - the Grandstand theme being an obvious one. The KPM music library is one that has put out LPs of such music. Now, here's the difficult bit...There's a particular piece very often used over footage of the Monaco Grand Prix in the 60s, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill etc. And that's the piece I've always wanted a recording of, but how on earth do I identify it? Any ideas? 8)

library music and unreleased music can be very difficult to get a hold of as its copyrighted very heavily and companies are often paying bollock loads of money (ie more than 99c on itunes) for the rights to it so its not the kind of thing that gets released very often- do you have a youtube or something of the track you're talking about?

Incidental music to the documentary of the making of the film "Grand Prix",composed by Maurice Jarre (Jean Michel's dad). Not library music, but i think this is what you mean.

That was a great film, very underrated & one of my favourites. Not the music I was after I'm afraid LD, but I see why you thought it might be

Well, after a lot of poking around in the darkest recesses of YouTube...I found it by accident! Probably because there was a nice picture of an aeroplane with it  It was one from the KPM library, Composed by Neil Richardson & titled The Riviera Affair (& used for a few different things over the years by the looks of it) So, picture Monaco in '68 & turn up the volume.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmMYAN7Tss4

Gorgeous :D
