If you don't want Windows 10 be careful of any Windows updates, for the third time I've found a sneaky download of the full program in my 'optional' updates which they've kindly already ticked for me (so not as optional as it should be). You can putting your mouse cursor on the download, right mouse, choose to hide the download. But be assured, the next time they have an update to Windows 10 itself they will pop it back in your optional downloads. |

My laptop got very insistent about Windows 10. I wasn't going to give in until I had to. But, somehow it downloaded itself over night. There it was welcoming me on Thursday morning. Asking me questions I had no idea of the answers to. I know I must have said yes, although I thought I hadn't. Any way, the point is, it seems ok, but filled with new things, that I don't want, or will ever use. So, this morning I've been 'un-installing' left, right and centre. I will probably find I've un-installed something vital. But in the mean time, its OK, nothing more, nothing less. I still miss XP. |

A window popped up on my laptop yesterday, saying that Windows 10 would automatically install on March 15th unless I cancelled the instruction - which I did. Leave me alone, I've only just got Windows 8 to look half right, by pulling all the wires out of its novelty tricks. |

If you have Windows 10 then as from today there is a major update to it. Download time for me was quite lengthy but I don't have superfast broadband. Installation of it took almost two hours so ensure you schedule the install (after download) to be at a time convenient to you. I also had AVG decide to do a major update at the same time and re-starting for that caused my PC to fail to load the log on page and go to a blue page with a spinning circle. If that happens press CTRL + ALT + DEL (at the same time) and the log in screen should appear (you may have to hit the three keys at once several times to get it to work, stick with it). |

I upgraded accidentally (yes it can happen) a few months ago and I haven't looked back. I had some performance issues with my PC prior to the upgrade specifically the drivers which I went to great lengths to resolve with only minor success and now the PC has never run better since the upgrade in fact I haven't had one issue since. Ok the interface takes a couple of days getting used to but once you get the hang of it it's really very simple. I'd never change back. btw if you read stuff online also from people who know far more shit then I do about it all ie. computer whizkids, industry magazines etc... Window's 10 seems to get pretty high marks in all the reviews... |

My experience with Windows 10 has been similar to Eoin's; computer runs much more smoothly than with my previous Windows 7 and start/boot up time greatly reduced. For me, 10 has been an improvement. |

Yes the start and boot up times from when you put in your password to actually having full reign of use of the PC is less then 60 seconds. Im very happy with it. |
