CD, but only because if i had everything i had on CD on vinyl i'd need a second home, it's just much easier to store CDs. i tend to only buy 7 inches now.

then there's the fact that they're easier to look after.

but in an ideal world it'd be vinyl, the format makes you appreciate an album more - no skipping tracks, taking a puase halfway through

That scene in 'Ghost' wouldn't have worked if Demi Moore had been listening to 'Unchained Melody' on her MP3 :*:

My sentiments exactly! I used to love my old Dansette record player and the smell of the leather when you opened the lid; that lovely crackle sound when the record started to play (OK I was a bit heavy handed!). I still have all of my vinyl stuff carefully preserved in brown carbroard covers. There is something so tangible about records. CD's are so disposible somehow. MP3's though convenient and just niot emotive enough for me!

I wish I could buy music on CD packaged in good old fashioned album covers. I prefer the sound quality of CD's but I loved the physicality of vinyl and nice big cardboard sleeves

I agree completely. I found a website that sells brand new vinyl albums and there are some special editions being released of Joy Division and Sex Pistols.

Was really tempted to buy them but then thought 'why?'. Sometimes nostagia can take over - a bit like when I started buying Star Wars figures and a Subbuteo!
