I don't really like Darren Bent but if he scores like he has done this season (which he won't cos he's been shit in an England shirt) then he might be alright!!

Bent is an absolute star and plays for the finest club in the world. The lad's hardly had a chance for England. Imagine he'll be the fall guy like especially as he's been a bit gimpy

Walcott's out, Joe Cole in. Other rumours suggest Johnson (Adam) is out and Carrick ( ) is in.

They might very well be the lucky ones if that shite rolled out as top class international worldbeating football against Japan is owt to go by. Walcott is a surprise, not because he's so good you can't believe he'd be dropped but because he's another one of those "I play for Arsehole, Chelski Mancu..so must be amazing" overrated fuckers...keep hearing all about how fuckin fast he is, well in that case why not go and chase Usain Bolt.....bet Henry is pissed off, he seemed to be "grooming" him during his last season at Arsehole.

Scott Parker must be wondering what the fuck it's all been about. Called in to the 30 unexpectedly and not allowed a kick. I'd take Dawson over Ferdinand any day. Johnson might have done summat interesting from the bench but Lennon and Wright-Phillips are what Capello knows.

No surprise with Bent - he seems singularly unfortunate to get 45 minutes every time England as a team play very badly and somehow he is meant to be astonishing and to show what he can do despite that. I personally think they take too many midfielders to these things. 5 forwards would hardly represent anything unusual in a squad of effectively 20 (3 keepers are mandatory). Think Heskey is lucky to manage to stand upright never mind to play football so think Capello has limited his horizons when it comes to goalscoring.

Apart from the countless goals others have scored because of his presence. Rooney's goalscoring record for England, and in his time Michael Owen's, are both significantly better when they've played alongside Heskey. Both players can't speak highly enough of him either. I'm guessing they both have some idea of what they're talking about.

Rather have Wright-Philips than Walcott.

Dawson should of gone, i don't think Ferdinand or Terry are 100%

Gareth Barry probably isn't fit and will break down, Parker would of ran all day the gutsy little bastard.

Rooney's a sure start just hope he won't chuck his toys out the pram when he's frustrated and do something silly (odds on that one please)

As for a partner up front? i'll go for Crouch

It's a wonder Capello didn't ask Shearer to get his boots on.

to his defence,Walcott proved he was able to score against the best club team in the world.

which is not quite the case for the other forwards selected (except Rooney obviously).

Hmmm, think Holland will implode as usual, Italy arn't the side they were 4 years ago.....but funnily enough, someone tipped me Ivory Coast the other week!

Ivory Coast are in a group with Brazil and Portugal. I'd probably be wanting more than 33s!

I backed Argentina in the last 3 world cups and always let me down, this time around the have the worlds best player yet an inferior squad overall I think anyway, plus that mad fucker of a manager so I've stuck me dosh on Italy this time, £20 quid at 14/1 which seem very generous odds to me. Alright they have on paper not a good as squad as last time out but they always seem to sneak through the qualifing groups, almost get beaten in the quarter final yet manage to squeeze through somhow, a late dodgy refereeing decision or some sort of cheating or other so fuck it.

European teams don't win the World Cup outside of Europe. Argentina have too many issues with mentalists and being top heavy with good attacking players, they'll be like KK's Newcastle. If i was putting money on, it would be Brazil.

I think this World Cup is probably the most open I can remember for a while. In previous tournaments you could generally pick out who'd be in the quarter finals before the first ball was kicked (with only an occasional upset.)

Now that so many play for European teams the style of play isn't as different as it used to be.

If I was putting money on anybody it would be on England this time ..
