No major surprises. Baines, Dawson, Carrick, Parker, Johnson, Wright-Phillips and Bent to be cut. Parker will keep his place if Barry fails to recover in time.

XI to win the World Cup will be:

Hart

Johnson Carragher Terry Cole

Gerrard Lampard Milner Cole

Rooney Crouch

Job done.

how the fuck does Michael Carrick even get anywhere near a world cup squad ??? I think if Engalnd can keep their best 11 fit throughout the tournament they stand a decent chance, defo the semis anyway.

And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Yes strongest squad we've had for a while. I doubt that Barry will be fit enough which is a shame. Pleased to see Carragher back but I've never been sure about Heskey on the big occasions. We'll see! Really looking forward to it.

Johnson at right back is a liability. i d put caragher there and ferdinand with terry!
obviously goalkeeper is the weakest link.
The draw is very favorable.

Come on england!

I see Harry Mungo has put his sheepskin jacket on! On this occasion I've got to agree with The Craig apart from maybe Johnson at Right back and could still see Carragher doing a job there. I think Ferdnand or King will partner Terry. People may raise eyebrows at Crouch (upwards) but the lad scores goals for England.

Ferdinand is a liability and shouldn't even be in the squad.

There might be a slight question mark over Johnson defensively, but all the great international teams usually have full backs who are good going forward, and with the lack of natural width on the right a Gerrard/Lampard/Milner/Cole midfield would provide, that would be essential.

now i will disgress but our dearest Domenech has put his 30 out: no vieira (good) no Nasri and my slection is:

LLoris
Sagna Abidal Evra Clichy
Ribery Diaby Gourcuff Malouda
Anelka Henry

i know, 2 left back!
weakest link: central defence

Chances are slim, but you never know, if refs allow us to score with our hands....

Allez les bleus!

He's cack and he's crocked.

He has retained my interest by picking Bent though he'll probably be cut. Still I imagine Heskey will score plenty of goals .......if he can stay on his feet.

ferdinand is crocked, yes.

But is he cack or are you just ManU haters? (or both)

Cole is an attacking defender. Johnson got lucky once.

Ferdiand is cack. Gets caught out of position too much. Vulnerable to long balls/pace/half decent opposition.

Johnson is the best right back we've got.

If France had a defence you'd still have to half fancy their chances with an attack like that.
