Top ten favourites according to the makers of books. Hard to see anyone beyond that list having a sniff.

Blind faith takes over for me every tournament England play in and every tournament i end up devastated that we get knocked out.Iv'e never been a gambler so my heart will always rule my head.I couldn't take blood money backing a country that could knock England out,it should be a criminal offence.
It's the last chance for the majority of the squad to win something at this level and i believe, yes,i believe that they will bring it home!!!!!
"Land of hope and glory...................",COME ON ENGLAND!!!!

Well if we're as rubbish as Italy in the run up we must have a chance.

Thanks for the rousing post LD I'm off to play my Elgar and Vaughan Williams CD's.

So long as we get to beat anyone on penalties I'll be happy..

If we can stay relatively injury free (not sure why Ferdinand's there anyway) I don't see why this can't be England's tournament!

Are we doing a fantasy league?

I'd been waiting on the Premier League Fantasy League site as they had one for the World Cup last time. Just been looking again and doesn't seem to be anything happening. Would have been easier to use that as nobody would have to register again. Looking through the other options at the minute as we want to do one at work as well. Seems to be Sky Sports or Metro:

Anybody know any others or thoughts on the above?

I'm registered with Metro through work.

It asked for a fair bit of personal data on set up - so I entered info based on my name - my Dad's address - a made up mobile phone number - and I was accepted.

There's a McDonalds one too: http://en.mcdonalds.fantasy.fifa.com/

Though it says on there the deadline for teams announcing their squads is today, so i guess it's possible their still might be one coming on the premier league site.

I'm registered on the Sky one already as my son's set up a league on there and it looks OK. I think we did the Metro one for the last Euro tournament didn't we? it turned out OK in the end but I think it was a bit of a hash at the beginning, wasn't it ..

Happy to go along with everyone else - we've got plenty of time left if you think there'll be a Premier League one

I'm getting very exited now,i've just stuck the Observer world cup wallchart on the dining room wall.....looks great.I've just had a hour long world cup explanation conversation with our 5ry old daughter so she understands the importance of watching all and every bit of action over her watching cbeebies.
Anyway i'm predicting a 3-1 win over the U.S. with two for Rooney and one for Defoe.............COME ON ENGLAND.

I'm an Englishwoman living up here in Scotland ..... as far as Scotland is concerned the World Cup isn't happening!

I stocked up on my England 'tat' whilst I was down in England for the Teddy Bears' Picnic and will be decorating my desk at work with it. We've held a World Cup sweep and they were all flabbergasted when I, the only English person, drew England!

I daren't but any England logos/flags on my car though, as I'd probably find it burned out on the M74 in Carlisle!

I'm not into football, but tried to get in the spirit for the World Cup before last, by hanging out the England flag from an upstairs window. Someone nicked it :?

i am worried now Ferdinand isn't there but i think we could make it to the semi's and maybe the final its all about belief and not getting knocked by the media,i would hate to think what goes through those lads minds when they read half the shit that is written,it would do my head in and would deffo affect your game i reckon, however i ADORE the world cup and i have booked me seat on the sofa and am determined to watch as many games as poss

Can't do watching England on TV at home - too frustrating more often than not. So it will (fingers crossed) be a few extra trips to the pub for me. :BEEEER

I'm not sure where'll I'll be watching Saturday's match as I'm up at the Festival Hall at the Celebration of Kate McGarrigle - it's part of Richard Thompson's Meltdown with Rufus and Martha Wainwright, all the Thompson family, Emmylou Harris, Lisa Hannigen and I think Nick Cave - it was too good a line up to miss. The start time of the gig is 4.30pm because of the match so I'm hoping I'll be able to squeeze quietly into a pub somewhere close by!
