Rafael raised his studs but he stayed on his feet and went through the ball not over it, he didnt get the man. Gerrard I think by the 'letter of the law' a phrase I hate btw on that basis had to go, the problem is there was no intent on his part to be reckless or injure anyone it was just a 'bad' tackle, from that point of view I'd like to see refs get a bit of common sence power back and use discretion. Its the rules that are the problem not the refs, there is little in way of back up, in high pressure situations they have one view one angle to make a cal live there and thenl, players these days dont help, diving feigning injury all makes the job tougher. Look what Mr Webb had to deal with in the WC fina lfor example.

And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Rafael had both feet off the floor and would have done just as much damage if Morales hadn't junped out of the way.

So if Gerrard has only got the ball and not made the slightest brush against Carrick then he'd have been ok is what you're saying?

Donny will be in the Premier league by 2012.

They'll probably replace Liverpool.
