Macclesfield Town midfielder, Richard Butcher died in his sleep last night, aged just 29. He spent most of his career in League Two and, if I'm honest, struggled when he made the step up to League One to play for Oldham Athletic (the club I support).

He was a quiet unassuming kinda guy and tragically, he leaves behind a wife and young family. Rest in peace, man.

Double tragedy for Macc, after Keith Alexander's death last year. Very sad indeed.
