My very first post after several years of lurking...... Just had to respond to Helen's post. Thought I'd even start a new thread. It was a good game yesterday - we deserved to win. It's been a good season so far (we are talking about wednesday so it could go downhill rapidly). The highlight is players playing with passion. The lowlight is the song for Semedo..... Thousands of very, very, very flat Wednesday voices. Relentless. Can't fault the enthusiasm though. We need Richard to lead the singing. I have finally done it. Written my first post. Be gentle with me. I know I'm a Wednesdayite but I am a big Hawley fan too.

Hurrah for you Lou! Used to be a lot of footie chat on here but I reckon the boys have just been emasculated by the near perfect form of the mighty Spurs. x

Nothing to do with Spurs,it's just hard to summon up internet banter when you support a team who get battered every week.

Lou..........welcome aboard........looks like we'll be playing you next season.

Oh, don't Dickster, you're making me feel bad for teasing you now. As if I don't feel sorry for you enough already...

We enjoy the pain really.......otherwise we'd all be Man Utd fans. They must be suffering after TWO defeats. Thanks for the welcome. I think this will be a lonely little thread. Not many Owls on the forum - apart from the man himself and Dave. Where is Dave when you need him??

Wednesday's ( ..........the dirty great arse of crow....Hillsboro....Shit...etc!),

.......welcome Lou!

Well as another newcomer to this site i am pleased to see that the Owls get honoured here, having been a season ticket for some 44 years now since I was somewhat small - even though i now live in Stockport - and I have brought up my 3 kids as Owls fans too - they have no choice!

As i have just posted elsewhere on here, i bumped into Richard recently at the back of the south stand and took the opportunity to thank him for his contribution to the Mick Jones gig at the Leadmill. And then Richard joins Jarvis Cocker on the pitch at half time yesterday to do the duties for a half time draw......just wish the game had been a draw! Well we deserved it and Madine was defo onside when his goal was disallowed. Ah well, we had to lose a home game sooner or later.....will keep an eye out for you at future games Richard!

The Owls will bounce back!!

i was well pissed off when Madine's goal was disallowed that ref was a dickhead,it was a really frustrating match, shame as it was Jarvis's first game of the season..we still had a laugh though and i will be there again to show my support for the Mighty Wednesday very soon,i've really enjoyed this season very much

a good idea if the decision goes your teams way and bad if it doesn't,the thing is there is so much riding on the outcome of a match these days that maybe they should go for the haweye thing,but.......on the other hand the random nature of a refs decisions are sort of one of the only things left in football that keep it exciting,i know that sounds odd but football has changed so massively over the last 15 or so years, its become so corporate and managed and controlled more by the backroom money men than the actual team manager that if the ref thing was clear cut then maybe that would make the richer teams invincible know what i mean? :eh? :bball:

Had to miss the game on Saturday unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately based on the result). Gave our tickets to some friends who also thought the goal should not have been disallowed. We sit on the Kop (can't afford the south stand city prices :? ) but i am sorry I missed jarvis and Richard at half time. That would have softened the blow of the defeat. Still - we were olaying a team who are top of the division and have an excellent away record and we only conceded one. It could very easily have been a draw.

Good to welcome another Owl onto the forum.

If we had hawkeye what would we moan about??? Sometimes I think we should have it and at other times I don't. Depends if the result would go for or against us.........
