Bloody brilliant. My dad is a lifelong City fan (born in Manchester). He hasn't stopped smiling. He is 93 so he has been through many lows in the last few decades. This one is up there with the best. ..>

It was a great result, they left it very late. :Hoorah ManU must have thought they got it when the whistle went at their game. I don't feel sorry for them

Everyone apart from MU fans are smiling - the biggest cheer of the match between Swansea v Liverpool was when the City result came through :Hoorah

Agree. What a great result. And QPR avoiding the drop was also a bonus.

At White Hart Lane yesterday, they were selling Bayern Munich Supporters Club, north London branch t-shirts for a fiver! Made me chuckle. x

Nope, it doesn't bother me. Tottenham is a big Jewish area still but my uncle, who is 70 and has been going to the Lane since he was ten, says that it was originally sung to reclaim the term from the anti-Semites. He said that opposing fans would call you a Yid so the Spurs fans turned it back on them by calling themselves the Yid Army. You can't insult me if I wear it as a badge of pride.

I have to say, it is sung throughout the game without a thought no doubt to what it means. Jermaine Defoe, he's Yiddo. To Paul Robinson when he comes (or came, sorry Dickie), You're Yid and you know you are etc etc.

Have to say I would never want it said outside of context, or want it on a T Shirt or anything. But as I said in another thread, London is a place of contradictions, it is a real melting pot and culture and religion are complicated things. No body I know who uses the term at a match is a racist or an anti-Semite. Big leftie and anti-racist that I am, I'm OK with it. But I do realise there are some people who it may offend.

All that said, if the last (disasterous) home game was anything to go by, the whole ground was singing it. I don't see it stopping anytime soon. xx

Oh......The distinctive, unique, hilarious, pretty repetitive and predictable feeling of beating spurs.
Yet again.
