I hope now that the poor souls killed and besmirched by the police at Hillsborough can rest and their brave families can find some peace at last.
It could have been any of us who went to football then. Politicians and police hated and accused us all and we were treated like animals. Congratulations to the campaigners, you took on the establishment and exposed their rotten heart. There is no real earthly justice but you have done thebest by your families and kinfolk

At last....those poor families,it's horrible to know that in a country such as ours such a colossal miscarriage of justice could have occurred it's an absolute disgrace. But they've been believed at last now I truly hope they can find some peace. Such incredibly brave people should be supported and applauded for their struggle not hounded, discredited and demonised by the press, police and politicians....being a Sheffielder, that awful day has haunted me and many many of us ever since....I played at the gig a while back at the Leadmill to try and help in the fight for justice and was proud to have done so it was a small thing but heartfelt ....the good folks of this city have nothing to be ashamed of but some of our authorities of that time most definitely have got plenty to be justly ashamed of....lets hope justice is done to those who deserve to be punished and I hope all those families can find peace.....at last

Absolutely echo what's been said. The front pages say it all, but not the Sun, which leads on Rita Ora getting her leg over and David Cameron texting. Neither does the Times. Murdoch is such a c**t, I wouldn't wipe my arse on it. x

Also echo all the above but just wanted to add......

Quote...... "I want to make it absolutely clear that we unequivocally accept the verdict
of unlawful killing and the wider findings reached by the jury in the Hillsborough Inquests.

"On 15th April 1989, South Yorkshire Police got the policing of the FA Cup semi-final at
Hillsborough catastrophically wrong".

I remember it happening and being absolutely horrified. It was all over the news here...and then it became this unbelievably wretched story of coverup and blame that boggled the mind. Over the years I have been keeping up with it and checking in to see what was going on from time to time. Documentaries, articles. So many awful stories from survivors and families. I have been paying closer attention over the last several months and hoping for this outcome. It's not enough and it will never be enough, no matter what happens next, but even so, I can't imagine the comfort and relief it hopefully brings. It's one of those things that will never be forgotten, and it wasn't forgotten, no matter how hard people tried to bury it. At last.

Watching some of the interviews with family members on the news and the one thing that they seem to all feel is that they have had the truth come out which is obviously vitally important after all these years for it to be recognized officially, but as far as justice goes that will not really be complete until those people who participated in the criminal cover up, lies and who directly contributed to the deaths of so many people on that day are brought to justice. Do people think this will happen though ?... the authorities have a habit of rally around each other and circle the wagons when the shit hits the fan...

Time will tell...more people will now realise they should not believe what they read...and due to actions of a few Police officers many more will not be trusted.
