This Olympic palava sounds like a whole lot of inconvenience. Or am I just being a miserable git?

It'll be trickier to get about, for sure, but a part of me is looking forward to seeing how it all pans out. I'm not bothered about the sport at all, but watching how London adapts and copes will be interesting I think. Yes, there will definitely be stuff to whinge about, but maybe there'll be some pleasant surprises along the way too.

Good to hear you're on the mend Richard, though I do think you should get an lp of pirate songs sorted while you look the part.

Olympics......

Think the athletics will be fine, it's just the hype...and I've always hated Seb Coe....wonder if Steve Ovett is banned from the site?

I think all the travel panic is exaggerated. Aye it will be busy but it usually is. I keep thinking of the Millennium Bug whenever we get a doorstop guide on "surviving" the what might be...

and Boris Johnson.............meks me radgee

Much to the amazement of everyone around me I have to say I am so not interested in the Olympics, just can't summon up any enthusiasm for it. More interested in how it has affected the poor blighters who have been turfed out of their homes to make way for it all and the poor commuters who are going to experience hellish journeys each day

The Olympic Stadium will hold what, 80,000 people? Does London grind to a halt every time there's a match on at Wembley? Yes i know there's the cycling tracks, basketball and whatnot too, but surely the number of spectators on the move wouldn't be much different to a Saturday match day?

Estimates of 450,000 staying visitors and 5.5million day visitors coming to London over the Games period. I'm staying in!

Plus all the security and Olympic 'entourage'. There was enough hassle when the Olympic torch came through near where I work ( until August 31st when I leave). We weren't allowed to park at work. Why? Because the Olympic torch was staying there overnight with 200 people referred to as the Olympic entourage. For a bloody torch. If that is what it is like for the torch then god knows what it will be like when real athletes and their entourage are involved.

And Murray lost.......

Glad to hear the leg's on the mend. I guess you won't be doing the 100 metres hurdles then?! I chatted to Palf a couple of years ago at the gig in Bexhill. What a lovely bloke he is!

Not long to wait, I was the same last year when I broke my ankle. I soon got the hang of walking again but it took a while to get back to full strength.
