I once watched a tele programme that advocated not eating any red food as it's bad for you

Have something similar with my kids. Eldest isn't allergic to tomatoes but he hates them with passion, unless they are undercover tomatoes. But my youngest could live on pasta, for breakfast, dinner and tea so I've had to do compromise. At the risk of turning into the forum's resident Delia, I roast red peppers with sea salt and olive oil and whizz them in the blender and that does 'tomato' sauce for pasta.
Also, the pasta thing that does both of them is fry spring onions, garlic and smoked salmon, add a tub of creme fraiche, put over pasta. Takes ten minutes and suits both. That is the domestic news for the day done... x

ha ha I will just call you Nigella from now on... you Goddess you .....

but have to say looking forward to new stuff from Richard and seeing him live again....everyone needs a break now and again and i'd say 17 years is a long time on the treadmill, even if you love what you do!

I also recommend glucosamine and chondroitin supplements, I have just started taking them for my hip (yes I'm an ancient old croc) and they have helped no end, prior to taking them I was popping codeine tablets like smarties for the pain but I've needed as much as a paracetamol since I started taking them.
Great to catch up on what you've been up to. You can't beat quality time with the family, I am making the most of time with mine because they are on the very cusp of flying the nest at 18,15 and 13. They still want to spend time with their old mother but only just. My middle one will go on holiday with me but won't be seen out with me in public, I have to walk three paces behind. He came in the bedroom the other night and gave me a kiss and told me 'I love you' to which I replied jokingly 'what do you want and without missing a beat he said 'a new phone' 8)

Yeah, that is what my life has become. It's like an edition of Tit Bits. So rock and roll! I even bought a chutney recipe in to work for a woman who sits next to me. She talks about her cat all day and whatever shite reality TV series she watched last night, programmes about people who have three nipples or an extra bollock! Hawley isn't the only one who needs to get off the treadmill...

Anyway, did you get into uni? xx

Hope the pain stays away Richard. Roll on the next tour and album, the sooner the better. It's been way too long.

Vegetable abuse :geek:

I developed an allergy at the age of 45 - eating tomatoes and / or pepper resulted in huge inflamation / boils / cysts developing all over - including in my throat - ended my career as an international male model - though opened a new career in porn - still crap at twanging me six string razor though...

A couple of pills a day sorted it out.

Look out for the fallen arches...

I've always had flat feet. Wonder if my Mother was startled by a tomato when she was expecting me.... :eh?

once i've finished this record you'll be sick of the sight of me,i am really enjoying NOT playing much, although i have done some live stuff, weller,Elbow,Pulp and Duane Eddy its the longest period of time i have had at home for 17 years, since my daughter was born in fact....to put that in perspective she was born on the first date of the Pulp lipgloss tour with the Longpigs supporting in 1993 which is another universe from here.........i am feeling refreshed and ready for the next stage in my life.........just hope everyone will still be interested in the music after such a long absence :roll:i have also found a cure for my suspected arthritis in my left hand,it was looking like i might have to retire as the pain was so horrendous i just couldn't play.........it is triggered.......by wait for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomatoes ..............i haven't eaten one for three months and i have NO pain,it is also triggered by red wine, cigs, potato's and fucking aubergines .....i can live without the humble aubergine but life without fags, ale and chips is unthinkable..........so the tomato's have gone.......ah shame.....i love me pasta me

Made me smile as I am growing loads of tomatoes outside this year. They have only just started to change colour and I started to pick them a couple of days ago. I will think of you Richard every time I eat one. Hope you won't miss them too much.

You so deserve taking a break. I will always be interested in your music. The comments on You tube when someone new "discovers you" are a joy to read. Heres to live shows when they come!!!!!! xx

Well that is interesting, i've had trouble with arthritic knees for about 5 years, but went back to dance classes after 25 years and in the last few months have suffered so much pain, have considered giving up again. Like Bradford Lass I can reccomend the gloucosamine and chrondroitin and also industrial strength cod liver oil, but never thought of diet being a factor, so i'm going to keep an eye on what i'm eating from now and see if a pattern emerges.
Looking forward to whatever the new year brings in the way of gigs, OR8 will have to do for 2011. Unless...

Richard

I am so glad you discovered what was causing your pain. What a cruel world it would be if it prevented us from having the pleasure of hearing and watching you play. Looking forward to the new album.
