Well, I was too tired to post anything when I got home yesterday, but what a fabulous weekend <*>
A truly beautiful setting, lots of great music, lovely people, sunshine (on Saturday and Sunday morning at least), even decent food at reasonable prices...and the cider was potent stuff. Richard was brilliant (of course) and I met catsandbooks down the front.

Richard's probably smiling because he was happy. I even spotted Colin, who usually looks quite serious, smiling a few times :wink:. It was that sort of weekend.

Other musical highlights were Conor Oberst, Bon Iver, Mercury Rev, Tindersticks. Oh, and I was walking past the cinema tent when I heard Serious wafting out, so I nipped in and saw the video on a big screen.

I was with my niece, who uses a wheelchair, so the mud was a bit of a challenge but there was no shortage of kind people offering help whenever we got bogged down – if any of them are reading this, thank you very much, it was greatly appreciated.

It was nice to wake up in my bed this morning but I'd love to be back at the End of the Road.

Was good to meet you again Blue Moon ... also enjoyed Bon Iver and the final song with the bowerbirds just had the crowd melt ... it was so beautiful I just have to share .... 'Love is for fools'

thanks massively to Simon and Sophia,the festival organisers, and their families for being so fucking amazing........abiding memories are.......

Si took us round the site Friday late and me and my mate Gordon were leathered within about two hours and we walked through the forest with no one else around with all the trees covered in crimbo lights...absolutely lovely then danced on the disco podium thing until the early hours totally arseholed on hot somerset cider..............seeing my lovely wife smiling her way through three days of top vibes.....she enjoyed the cider as much as i did its like mild acid......you just cannot help but have a laugh on it...............setting of sky candles with Simon and my family and his at the end of the festival....really beautiful.....until health and safety stopped us :roll:

no not a hippie i just like that festival its the only one i hate all the others cos they're shite i get depressed at them mainly UK one's some european one's are boss

If you get the chance to play Green Man in the Brecon Beacons, go for it. I used to go to festivals a lot, but grew to hate them when they started to get very corporate & much too big. One of the great things about being an old fecker is that I got to some great festivals in the 70s before it became a "lifestyle choice" for lots of middle class nobheads who don't know how to behave.

I went to Green Man with Anne & the kids this year. It was amazing, so relaxed. We went with friends & a few kids , and it sounds like we had a very similar experience to you. My lad is 7 & obsessed with music & it was the first "real" live music he has ever seen. He is now a huge fan of King Creosote & Drive By Truckers - probably because of the general vibe of being out late at night looking at a brightly lit big stage with dry ice & stuff, LOUD music, but being able to roll down grass banking whilst watching it. The look on his face couldn't be bought.

Really really nice festival. Apparently Solfest in Scotland is very good too.
