Okay the answer I have from iTunes is as follows:

I have escalated this issue to our engineering team for review, and we've verified with the provider of the content that £7.99 is the correct intended price for the album. The iTunes Store doesn't actually set the prices for the content. This is all pre-determined by the label providing the content to our site. The songs marked as "Album Only" are also decided by content provider. In this case, the provider has requested that only 3 songs are made available as singles for £0.79 each. The remaining 3 tracks are only offered for with the purchase of the entire album at £7.99.

I hope this information has been helpful. Thank you for being a valued iTunes Store customer. Have a wonderful day!

And looking at the iTunes store they have now made three of the songs album only - Tonight the Streets are Ours, Lonesome Town and I'm So Lonesome can only be obtained if you pay £7.99.

Sorry chaps, I've done my best, and I find it extremely odd that this is the case as iTunes songs ARE sold at 79p each, and more often than not the album only tracks are thrown in free of charge so long as you buy the whole album but it would appear it is all down to the label provider. I'm not sure in this case if Mute is the provider as the gig was specifically recorded by Apple for iTunes sale only. But I'm sure if iTunes are wrong with the above statement that Mute will take it up as people from the label do read this forum

The songs are great and are worth buying, my refund from this will go towards a raffle prize for the OR8 gig, as well as the CDs I've already promised.

I have to say that i'm disgusted by this-I've been holding off purchasing the show until they got the pricing issue sorted-i'm no tightarse but the woman who introduced Richard on the night implied that we would be able to download the gig for free using our card codes. This time of year is particularly tough on peoples wallets as it is and now they've shifted the goalposts even further to rip us off more.

I for one will not buy it now out of principle which is a shame as it was a great night but i don't see why we should be ripped off

Thankyou Denise for all your efforts

I still think there's some misunderstanding here, be patient and see what Mute have to say.

I just got the message they're refunding the full 7.99 to me too. I just wanted the difference between the 7.99 and the 4.49, but whatever they want to do!

It's changed again - still £7.99 but it's gone back so you can now buy 5 of the tracks separately for 79p (or if you were at the gig redeem your credits) but still I'm So Lonesome is album only.

It's just silly. End result is, I won't be downloading this, at all. I'd love to hear it, but I can live without it. I simply can't justify the expense.

I agree. If this was put at decent price surely there would be more downloads? The price it is now is too expensive.

Oh well...We can but wait.

Okay - it's back on sale at £4.49 - I'm So Lonesome is still album only, buy the album or you will miss the wonderful interplay of guitars and harmonica.

:Hoorah

Well done to all those who complained to iTunes (a frustrating process if ever there was one).

I can't understand why it went on after my initial complaint when they dropped the price and refunded.

I wonder how much this pricing has affected downloads? A huge pity as the songs are great and really need to be in everybody's Hawley collection.

Look on the bright side - at least its all sorted now (hopefully for good....)

I'm sure that most people haven't just made a single visit to Itunes, and will discover on their next visit that the price has at least been amended.

The current price of the Live from London EP is £2.99. There's a few other Live from London EPs available at a lower price but I think it is only for a couple of weeks.

I've just been back through this thread and noticed that people mentioned that this EP was in the iTunes Plus format when it came out. I bought it a month ago for £4.49 and all I got were 128kbps Protected AAC files. I asked the shop about this just before purchasing and they said it was only ever available in this format.
To give an example, my 'Just Like The Rain' is only 3.6MB in size. Presumably everyone else got the larger, better quality files? I'm not too thrilled by this.
