I don't need it confirmed - I was watching him on stage............

Here's a candid pic I took backstage (with the phone)..............cold drink was definitely in order................. and suit is definitely grey!

Baroness ... that was definitely a different jacket to the one he wore on stage .... it's a completely different cut!!

I know ........................ but the trousers are the ones he wore on stage - the longer jacket was a slightly lighter grey. What does it matter anyway, he looked good, music was great - end of story!

And the back of the collar is no longer black. Quick change artist.

Oh come on - its not fair to pick Richard's every garment apart (so to speak)................. leave the poor guy alone!

A review from the local paper in Garforth -

What can be said about Richard Hawley that hasn't already been said? He is such a huge talent, both in his skills as a songwriter and as vocalist. But his guitar playing is what surprised me most as his style is impeccable. Opening with 'Hotel Room' from the album Coles Corner, Richard set the bar high from the very beginning. 'Born Under A Bad Sign' came next, his own composition and not the blues classic, but equally as amazing in it's own right. By this time, Mr. Hawley had the audience in the palm of his hand as he joked with the crowd, before a great cheer erupted as he announced the next song was to be 'Tonight The Streets Are Ours' from his latest album Lady's Bridge. A dose of rockabilly came next in the form of Serious, before things got down and mellow once more in 'Roll River Roll' and 'Valentine.' 'Just Like The Rain' has Richard singing in Johnny Cash mode here before he goes back to his Lowedges album for 'Oh My Love.' An encore provided two more songs in I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, a Hank Williams cover, and, finally 'The Ocean' which was the perfect end to a perfect night. I have to say that this was one of the best performances by any artist I have ever seen. But, in saying that, you've still got to have the songs. Richard Hawley has got the songs and hopefully there's still more to come.

Maybe now Richard will believe us all when we say it sounded great out front

That is such a nice review, and all true. Not that I was there but have seen him live twice so far. You go home from a Hawley gig feeling all warm and fulfilled cus Richard and the band give everything they've got':D' and they have a lot to give like the man says.

That's exactly why I've seen Mr.H 4 times (so far) this year. I've never actually met Richard but part of the attraction is that it's like watching one of your mates on stage singing and playing. Bit of a strange concept I suppose but there you go.

p.s. I've just noticed that no one has commented on the handbag in the photo

(Except the handbag, which nice though it is doesn't belong to Richard - honest! )
