hey thank you for this thread, dave.

brought back loads of mameries (@) (@). long story i will try to make it short.
went straight from work to victoria station, off to sheffield.
i willingly stayed out of the nostril ding~dong (dont do it) in order to behave and remember it all.
i vividly remember the fountain & lights on arrival.
then off to the Rutland's where i was staying on the Boss' recommendation. just in time for dinner and a nice lamb pie, where i spotted the holy grail hendo s on a table next to mine; first taste.
sampled all ales on tap. first glimpse of how friendly people were there.
then off to the gig. went to fagan's before to offload a spare ticket i had. Barbara clearly let me know she wasn t having any touts in her gaff (which wasnt the case)!
then off to the hall. remember those "gay" RH" signs. class.
the gig, well too long story BUT the bass intro from collin elliot was moving your guts on COMING HOME (as dave has posted here before). it was my first for SERIOUS. remember clearly crying of joy at some point and laughing, pointing it out to my neighbours. the standing ovation and so on...
then off to fagan's again; remember giving my lamb pie back in the loo and clearing the mess by fear/ respect for Barabara. believe me the place was cleaner after i left that when i walked in (which was spotless anyway).
great time with some forum members who looked after me in another pub (thank you for that, gents).
next of the dog! breakfast at the local greasy.
local paper had "the crowning of a king" on the cover and it did felt like it .
wandering in Sheffield. more nice people (chatting for a while with some old chap just crossing the street, walking in a sport shop, Pulp playing on the pa/staff dancing....) arrived by chance to castle market., shanon's. met pale rider. gave my spare copy of silent night to a lovely old lady who had no clue who RH was but was delighted with the gift.
then back to fagan's for a 3 hour session of jameson and guinness. unique hospitality from the owners.
then back to london and my local and the rest is a blur.

Good times, thank you sir.
