After just talking about the mighty Roisin Dubh gig in Galway in the best hawley gig thread down there, comes an email from the said venue announcing that he's coming back...

I'll be heading down for that one methinks, on a Sunday and I'm off Mondays. Bound to sell out fast this one so whoever is thinking about going think fast it is a rare chance to catch the man in a slightly more intimate venue than recent times.

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Righto, gig tickets booked, so just the small matter of flights, accomodation, and someone to mind the kids, and an unexpected weekend break in Galway is now on the cards.

Just a quick one. Is there any recommended hotel or bar for a few pints of the black stuff after the gig where fello Hawley Heads may be hanging out discussing the finer points of the music world?

Or perhaps even the man himself may enlighten us as to where he goes for a pint of porter? :P

Hi.

I've been going to RH gigs since 2002 and have been a long-term 'lurker' on this site. The most recent show I went to - 23rd Jan at RFH in London - was so wonderful that it prompted me to officially join the 'Hawley boarders' on this forum. So hello everyone - it's nice to be part of such a discerning bunch!

My question is : does anyone know if Richard might consider doing an 'in conversation' session over here in the UK? The one scheduled with Philip King on 25th April sounds really interesting and something I'd love to attend but sadly I can't go to Ireland for it. Here's hoping.... :D [/img]
