Richard Hawley (ex-Pulp guitarist), one of the greatest contemporary British songwriters, a top guitarist and undoubtedly the best crooner of our time, will be in Athens, Greece 20 February for a unique concert at the Fuzz Club. Hawley continues the tradition of major rock 'n' roll musicians and creates his own sounds through rich orchestrations and a chillingly honest voice. Richard Hawley has served as guitarist for bands such as Pulp (with whom he toured Greece) and the Longpigs (who had several hits in the mid-'90s). But a musician with such a background could not stand still. Along with collaborations on a number of albums and concerts with big names (Nancy Sinatra, Jarvis Cocker, Robbie Williams and others), he decided to follow a solo career. Even though he was older, he was justified.
Six albums later, Richard Hawley has been recognised by international audiences, major musicians (for example, upon receiving the Mercury Award in 2006, Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys, also from Hawley's hometown of Sheffield, admitted that the award rightfully belonged to Hawley) and critics.
His Athenian concert will feature a number of songs from his latest album, the amazingly moving Truelovers Gutter, as well as several of his better known songs from older work.
Don't miss Richard Hawley on 20 February in Athens, Greece for a one-of-a-kind concert at the Fuzz Club.
