This is brilliant! I just got tickets for Richard here in Cork at The Pavillion on Sat April 24th. This is great news. A great venue. I saw Gary Numan there not so long ago and Imelda May last year.
I will have to have another drink to get me to sleep tonight, so excited, Richard in my hometown, I cannot believe it, roll on April 24th. :D

Just got my 2 tickets too, 350 mile round trip from Dun Laoghaire but no matter. Can any Corkonians suggest suitable 3 star hotels in walking distance ( 2 miles ) of venue ? Caught The Olympia gig last Autumn so chuffed to be catching a 2nd gig so soon. What size venue is The Pavilion? 8)

The Victoria Hotel is two mins walk from The Pav off the main street Patrick Street, this is a perfect location and it is cheap enough.
The Pav I think has a capacity of about 700 (saw Gary Numan & Imelda May there and also going to see Damien Demsey on Paddies Day), a very good venue. There is a bar next to the main venue where everyone goes before and after the gig also called The Pav.

If I'd know about this before I bought the Galway tickets...

Still, if I get a job between then and now I reckon I'll treat myself

Haven't been to Cork in years

Will be driving down to Richard's gig at Pav. :D
Does anyone from Cork know of a safe parking area very nearby?
Many thanks,

Paul Street Car Park is literally 3 mins walk from the Pav right in the city centre, open til midnight, cheap enough cost, very little street parking in that area. There is another car park about 5-6 mins away that has over night parking if that's what you need.

Does anyone happen to know if the current air flight problems are going to be a problem for the two Irish gigs or is Richard currently in England and able to manage crossing by ferry? :?

Denise, thanks for advise a while back on Victoria Hotel, great to hear show has sold out. Would you care to further enhance your reputation by suggesting a nice venue in the Patrick Street/Grand Parade area for an early bird meal before the show: Italian/Indian/Chinese/Steakhouse, all would suit. Hope to get to see you in Pavilion for a drink after to thank you for your helpful hints, :)

And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Is my face red? Apologies to Denisc for what the combination of dyslexia, poor typing skills and tired eyes can do.
