Richard has been confirmed for the line-up.

And from another report - :D

Joining the headliners on Friday is Sheffield’s favourite lovelorn crooner Richard Hawley. The delicate and impassioned strains found on his recent sixth album ‘Truelove’s Gutter’, with lithe string and gently imparted guitars, continue where the Mercury Music Prize nominated ‘Cole’s Corner’ and Top 10 gracing ‘Lady’s Bridge’ left off. As the title suggests, this darker foray into Hawley’s personal style is poignant and devastating, yet clearly hit a chord with the public as it hit the UK Top20 upon its release last year. The former Longpigs and Pulp member has also worked with some of our finest indie heroes from Arctic Monkeys to Elbow further cementing his influence and popularity with peers and fans alike. As his songs sail upon the air across the hills of Suffolk, it will be a difficult task attempting to find somewhere as relaxing and romantic anywhere else on the site while he commands The Word Arena.

Laura Marling and Jonsi also confirmed - heard both their new albums, nice.

We we really wanted to go to Green Man, but I can't 'cos of work, so we decided on Latitude. The National are playing too, so job's a good 'un already.

This from another report - Richard, will you be touring in October or are they getting confused with last year and talking a load of b**ks?

Appearing in The Word Arena on the Friday is singer/songwriter Richard Hawley of Pulp fame, who has a UK tour scheduled in October and only Latitude confirmed so far for this year's festival season.

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

I've got tickets to see Paul Heaton soon, and it's exactly the same old nonsense from the journalists - Paul Heaton of Beautiful South fame etc. How many Paul Heaton's or Richard Hawley's are out there making music FFS? When I booked my Paul Heaton tickets I didn't see any small print saying 'buyer beware - this isn't the Paul Heaton ex of Beautiful South'. I'm not so sure whether they are lazy, or if they just prefer to treat their readers with contempt.
