Talking about Festivals, the most fun one I went to last year was Leigh Folk Festival in Essex. Leigh on Sea, beautiful little fishing town with good fishmongers. The Smoke Fairies played there too and it was ace.

Latitude looks great.

I've been watching Thom Yorke's set from there last year a LOT lately, it was amazing.

The crowd seemed really cool too considering (if I remember correctly) that Thom was booked VERY late and was almost a bonus/surprise guest.

I know a lot of people hate Thom/Radiohead on here, but if you do like him I suggest watching it:

The crowd participation is great and seems to be a very 'inclusive' performance and atmostphere.

James are playing this year too, so if I'm around/free that weekend I will be VERY tempted to go.

Glad to hear it!

You seen that gig before then?

Doing There There on an acoustic guitar on your own is quite a feat!

logged onto site to see what other people thought. Band looked good and played well but Richard did seem to be in something of a hurry. . . Maybe not quite his scene, there again not quite mine but we bought our tickets primarily to see him so we were sorry that he couldn't play a little longer
Maybe we have been lucky enough to see so many wonderful shows, (with the exception of twisted christmas which was so dire that even RH's performance failed to redeem it), that our expectations were unreasonably high.

we only had a 45 minute slot and it was strict so we had to get through it without too much fuss or the normal chatting, that would have meant less songs,i thought it went well there were shit loads of people right to the back of the tent.......i had to pull two songs, festivals are always stressful to play on the whole,no sound check, you just roll the gear on and away you go so you are flying by the seat of your pants,i generally don't enjoy them at all to be honest but contrary to what you thought i enjoyed it.My daughter loved it she didn't want to leave,i was however feeling really ill and just wanted to lie down.

thats just up the road from me and I love it there.... never been to the folk festival though but think i'll try it next year, its usually about May/June time isn't it?
Anyway, glad you enjoyed Latitude Richard, sounds as though you need a good ol rest mate, what with your bad chest.. or have you been drinking too much of Helen's Grog??? :*:

For the record I thought Richard was the bollocks at Latitude. At first I was a bit disappointed at the lack of banter (even though the singing/playing was ace), then the poor sod goes and says he's got bronchitis. Talk about the show must go on, amazing.

I missed it! I was ill too (in hospital with an infection). My mates said Richard was amazing.

the gig was definitely one of the highlights of my weekend. one of the better festivals that i've attented, didn't see a spot of trouble or bad behaviour.. was shocked to hear all the controversy afterwards
