If Mr H maybe wants to give the usual chrimbo show a miss, I wonder if he's ever considered doing a one off show for the hardcore fans, and playing some more unusual stuff like b-sides, or even some stuff from the first two albums that doesn't often get an airing? I'm sure there's plenty on here who'd be as excited as me to hear room with a view, hank marvin, love of my life, coming home etc live.. just a thought anyway :D

Brilliant idea - nah then Hawley!

Aye, he could get one of those drum and organ duos to open the gig - there's some good ideas for a theme and other guest performers below

in theory good but most of the b-sides i only ever played once so,A-i can't remember half of them and,B-it would take forever to rehearse them therefore defeating the object of spontaniousnesslessnessness......know what i mean?

aye. ok, instead howabout a setlist voted for by those on here / who receive newsletter or whatever for tracks that haven't been in the setlist for donkey's years, similar to like what you did at the City Hall a few years back? Coming Home, Precious Sight, Naked In Pitsmoor, Valentine etc etc. Be our jukebox for an evening!

Looks like someone set a trend:

Fri 10 Dec Heaven 17 Devil's Arse Cave Hope Valley

Good luck to them - I loved Heaven 17 and the Human League in the 80's - still have a few 45's tucked away somewhere...

But if they want to fill that hole up you need to bring in Joe Elliot and the lads :eye:

Was reading about John Martyn not playing old stuff which the fans wanted...... he said something like.....sometimes it's good to not give them what they want.....he wanted to move on...Nick Jansky tells me the same thing.......it's hard being a fan and wanting the old stuff when you know the artist is looking forward rather than back........especially for a fan like me - who missed all the old stuff having arrived late!
