Yes, it was a fantastic weekend with some great bands and a really good atmosphere. It was my first festival and I enjoyed it so much I've booked an earlybird ticket for next year .... :D :D

Ah I saw that stall - lots of metal guitars, what looked like mandolins etc. Any good? When I went there there was a geezer playing slide guitar in the stall.

i played it too,the man who ran the stall is a mate of Edwyn Collins and his mates in his band,i met him backstage and popped into the stall the day after,he kindly gave me the tuning for that guitar which was really unusual, nice man too. However the instruments i was on about were from that chango tent thing, mental stuff in there.

Heard a great interview with Edwyn Collins and his wife on Robert Elms the other day – think it might be gone from i-player after today so catch it quick.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0 ... 3_09_2010/

Edwin was talking about how since his stroke, he can sing almost perfectly but still has problems with his speech. Reminded me of my Grandad, who had a stroke and couldn't talk and had been like this for nearly 10 years. And then my dad took him out for a carol concert one Christmas and he suddenly started singing, word perfectly, at the top of his voice. The doctor told my dad that you use a different part of your brain to speak than you do to sing.

Glad he's on the mend because he comes across as such a lovely bloke. x

he is a very lovely man,he was amazing at the end of the road, not because of the stroke but purely because he was fucking amazing.I had a great night he made me and my mate very very welcome. His Mrs grace is a force of nature and a deep old soul.I admire them both very much.

I 'd believe that alright. My Gran has alzheimers, she can recognise us all, but names are a bit out the window at this stage, as well as who is related to who. anyway, she can still remember all the old songs perfectly and sing em great too.

His bad are like The Magnificent Seven - the love they have for Edwyn radiates from the stage - or am I talking bollocks?

Didn' they all shoot each other at the end?

Anyway they are the best.
