Seemed to remember drinking quite a lot of Guiness myself that holiday – my midwife told me a half of stout a day was good for the baby, advice I have adapted to fit the general trials of parenthood ever since. Good luck. xx

Thanks!

The old last holiday before kids...gulp

I've found a boat trip that we can take the dog on with us, that'll be amusing because she likes to leap in the water from great heights (the dog, not the wife)

I've done some investigatign and so far we have:

3 Jun Primavera Sound Festival Barcelona, Spain
8 Jun HMV Forum
9/10 June (at some point) no direction home
12-14th July Latitude

This would open up nicely for the Forum gig being the tour warm up with June/July being the optimum touring time.

This is good - this leaves a 2-3 month window BB (before baby)

I trust there are RH branded breast pumps for sale these days?

You should play here – Wilton's, Britain's oldest surviving music hall. Went there last night and I'd forgotten how completely beautiful it is. Also prominent in the building of trade unions in this country – during the dock strike of 1889, it fed a thousand meals a day to starving dockers' families.

It doesn't hold very many people but the acoustics are outstanding.

But I want a seat at the front, nearest the bar. x

Or maybe here - Huntingdon Hall Worcester - saw Nick Lowe at this place a few weeks back:

Although those column things can get it the way.

Shit, he's going to tour properly in september isn't he?

Damn my loins

Hnag on - he released Trueloves gutter in september time and I saw him in October - the June tour is still a possibility.

Come on RH don't let me down June/July/early Aug fine. Mid Aug? i'm going to need a sofa for the missus

RH said last night he'd be doing a full tour later in the year - later in the year to me sounds like October, late October would be best for me really. Then we could get a baby sitter and charge out to see you and back in 2 hours as a tester run. Our first taste of freedom.

Any earlier than that and I just have to bring someone else and leave the wife at home, either way I win really.

Not sure this is the best strategy for survival, post-natally.

You're right - probably best I don't mention it and just claim to be working late. Being a postman this would show real dedication to my career which the wife would admire, right?

Maybe not a good strategy. I'd go with the babysitter option........
