Described as 'the Yorkshire Roy Orbison' by Andrew Harrison in LoveMusicLoveFood : The Rockstar Cookbook, Richard Hawley played the Forum last night fittingly in shades & leather, brilliantly darker stuff, brilliant album.Threw in the odd older slower track & of course plenty of top banter inbetween. We'd be shooting him with ravens not chickens now, though not sure ravens go with Henderson's Relish...

Had a great time at kentish town.
Bought tickets on this forum just a few weeks ago, very happy and 2nd time I've seen the band.

Thought sound was poor for the first 3 or so songs, but was fine after that. But hey, it was a brilliant gig, good atmosphere from crowd and Richard, your comic timing is priceless.

My partner and I are massive fans, saw him at Buxton and Bridlington on 2010. Went on Friday to the HMV forum, waited in the wind outside to make sure we were at the front. Talked to a lovely young man who I think has already commented (I knew because of the Tony Christie reference!)
Absolutely loved the gig, was magical at the front as you forget all the people behind you!
Richard is bloody brilliant and has a wicked sense of humour. Laughed in all the right places.
Got tickets for Lincoln and Sheffield City Hall in Sept/Oct, cannot wait!
Thanks for a wonderful evening from both of us. (*)

Welcome RedPoppy1!

It is me the Tony Christie fan. Not so much a fan anymore though (told you why).

I'm off to Greece on Saturday for 2 weeks. When I get back I'll have post holiday blues so think booking the Brixton gig is in order!

I thought the stage setting with all of the trees was fantastic - really effective against the mood of the new material. Was that your doing Richard? The idea I mean, not the planting.
