Just as fabulous as Magna but in a totally different way.

This was the venue was where I first saw Mr H & co (as Jan reminded me) four years ago. The music was every bit as good (perhaps even better), the building had had a bit of a facelift and Shez had the luxury of a proper stool instead of an orange plastic beer crate.

Was an interesting experience being sat up in the gods and being able to look down on those hardy folk in the stalls all enjoying themselves in their own way. The sound probably got amplified as it rose upwards, but the response from the crowd was immense - or were they just happy to be in out of the rain?

Was good to spot some familiar faces but was sorry to have to scoot off afterwards (early start this morning :? )

Sheffield City Hall next week-end and then again the week after = Hawley overload :Hoorah

It were alright. He played some songs and that and there were some people there.

There's a job going reporting for the N.M.E. if you fancy it?

Fuck the NME, one has standards to maintain.

It was a great night, I've never seen H look as relaxed and as happy to be on stage as he appears to be on this tour.

I reckon the introduction of the keyboards on this one is a brilliant change in direction, really compliments the original sound whilst giving a completely different feel.

Musicianship as polished as ever, old songs rubbing shoulders nicely with the new stuff and the whole band is as tight as a gnat's chuff.

And it was lovely to spend time with the usual suspects, and meet up with a few people I'd not seen before.

Marvellous gig at Holmfirth, whopping great sound. The new album, as I suspected it would, sounds brilliant live. Only my second trip to the Picturedrome - the first being the Truelove's Gutter tour, and both nights there have been memorable ones. Had a great night. Had the chance to meet a few more new faces, too and the familiar forum lurkers  And no rain on the way home, either :D What more could I ask for? <*>

I didn't swee him either!

Starting to think he's a figment of the collective Forum's fevered imaginings!

After a smashing night out in Huddersfield the previous day Mrs LPD and I were a bit jaded during Sunday daytime. But 2 pints of Black Sheep, a catch up with some really nice Forum Members in the Old Bridge and an earful of the very talented Lisa Hannigan we were ready for RH and the band!
Richard didn't disappoint and as always the live versions take on a new dimension from the studio versions.

Great gig and set the scene for a brilliant tour!

What we need now is live CD just in time for Christmas.

LPD

PS I also got to see Lofty Eric's Royal Enfield! :D

Great night, more later. ..>

Agree 100% with everything that has already been said, huge contrast to the Magna gig both fantastic for different reasons, but as the quote says, I really thought they smashed it! :Hoorah H seemed very relaxed (red wine! 8) and I got the feeling he couldn't wait for the big guitar solos so he could let rip.

Love the banter, especially the guitar question! ..>

Apart from nob heads talking at the bar, I can't remember seeing a bad gig at the Picturedrome, but this was something else! :Hoorah

Fantastic pictures peeps! ..>

Crushed! Figment! I was definitely there, but did only say hello then legged it!
Really wanted to see Lisa Hannigan, who I thought was fantastic, and grab a decent spot for the H gig.

We were having the discussion with Little Dickie about how people get this image in their heads of how
people are going to look from what they have said on the forum, when Bradford Lass said the above...
twice! :? Not sure if that was a good thing or bad! :eh?
