Bought tickets way back for Birmingham because City Hall sold out so quick, now got tickets for Sunday as well!! Hotel booked in Birmingham and a nice leisurely drive across to Sheffield on Sunday, cannot wait. :D

Really looking forward to this. It is the City Hall's 80th birthday this week apparently. Can't think of a better way to celebrate than with a Hawley gig! Mind you, can a building have a birthday? Anyway, it was built 80 years ago and has had a number of events this week of which the best is RH and his band. That's my opinion anyway.

Top gig last night, 'Soldier On' was definately the highlight for me, it sounded amazing. Shez's lap steel was awesome.

The ocean was ace too, even the little fluff up sounded good. shows were all human eh!
Only downside for me was that i thought 'She Brings The Sunlight' might have made an appearance. It would have made a killer opener.

Oh yeah.. Martin Simpson....bloody hell, i'm gonna burn my guitar. great playing!

H and the band on top form yet again! ..> The Rotherham comment made me laugh......not sure if Craig was there last night but was expecting more 6 fingers, knuckles dragging comments

Agree with Mr L........Martin Simpson - WOW, feckin awesome. Not heard of him before  but checked his website and he's playing York in November. Going to see if I can make it.

Like the City Hall but the crowd.......H mentioned it a couple of times....quiet, almost subdued at times.
Not sure why. Got going eventually after H said it was being recorded! ..>

Is it right at a gig, between Lisa H going off and and Mr H coming on, people were buying as many ice creams as beers!

Loved the stage set, didn't get it at Holmfirth, but then you'd struggle to get a pot plant on stage there, let alone half a dozen trees!

Thought Open Up........stole the show for me. :Hoorah

Hawley gigs finished for me for now, unless.....................

Ok, I gave the new(ish) album some stick when it came out.

I will still say I have some issues with it, but the issues I have when it comes out of my speakers was very different to the sounds coming out of the City Hall last night, those new tracks are amazing live.

Cheers Team Hawley, me and the Mrs had a brilliant evening.

Please please please......play Run for me live one day! Do I just miss it live?

Ice cream instead of beer is wrong every way you look at it.
