<*> Just bought my ticket to this gig! Doesn't seem to be popular among the forum people. Anyone's going at all?...
Still, wouldn't mind if His Hawleyness would sing just ffor me.

Sorry I'm talking rubbish but I'm just so excited about the gig:)

Boo... I love Leeds... But then, I'm Russian, so this can be forgiven:)
I love Sheffield an' all.

So, no one's going? Right then, more space for myself!

Kisch -are you really making the journey from Karelia?

I only live 7 miles away from the venue but haven't bothered to get tickets yet

Must be the Leeds' attitude?

Well, I'm not quite in Karelia, more like in St Petersburg, but yes, I am making the journey from Russia, I will be on holidays in England and can't miss a chance to see the lovely Mr H.! :)
Leeds attitude seems to be a bit lackadaisical, isn't it? But that's I suppose the charm of it (for me anyway).

I saw Eels there last year - there is safe underground parking a couple of minutes walk away that I found when I googled the venue. It's the Merrion Centre - £4.50 overnight, according to the O2 venue website. Lots of one-way streets around there, but I managed to escape after without too much stress.

It's for that reason I avoid driving into Leeds like the plague.....however given my other half's mobility issues I think driving and parking there might be the best bet......he can cope with a two minute walk. Now next vital question is there a bar? ;)

I can't wait for tomorrow. I usually treat RH's gigs as therapy, because I've never felt like I have at one of his shows, anywhere else (anywhere, not just music)

To get into the state I usually do at his shows, it seems the only logical thing to do is start crying at the beauty of the whole thing

It's weird though, I don't think about crying, but I just hemorrhage with so much emotion, sometimes it just naturally follows

Does anyone else get like this?

Back in 2008, I just assumed it was my current state of mind. But 4 gigs on, I'm exactly the same at all shows

...

Another fantastic gig, great music a bit of banter & a telling off for the knobheads who can't keep their traps shut for 5 minutes. Quote overheard from near the front "ooh it's just like listening to the CD".
thanks again Boss & Band ..>

I took my other half for his first initiation into the wonderful world of Hawley, suckey socks he was visibly moved several times particularly during 'Before' and 'Lady Solitude'

The journey to the venue was nightmarish, I have never known such a poorly signposted music venue in all my days and Leeds is a twat to navigate around, if it hadn't been for a kind taxi drier who took pity on me and let me follow him to the Merrion Centre I fear we would still be driving round in circles.

Anyhoo it all came out in the wash and despite the fact we arrived at 8 we still caught most of Lisa's set (Karl loved her too)

One of my favourite gigs ever, Mr H just looks right at home up there amongst the trees doesn't he? Didn't want it to end......
