Fingers crossed for all yous "disadvantaged" non-Sheffield folk too  Who'd have imagined that coming from round these parts would bring some positive discrimination one day ..>

More information - note they give out more tickets than there are places so if you do get tickets get there early.

Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham

"From the heart of a former steel works in Sheffield, Richard Hawley performs a personal selection of his songs with a full symphony orchestra for the first time.

Specially orchestrated by composer and conductor Joe Duddell (who has previously worked with Nero and Elbow), this one-off performance for BBC Radio 6 Music is part of its six-week season celebrating live music.

This is the first show of BBC Philharmonic Presents... - for more information and the full festival line-up please visit www.bbc.co.uk/philharmonic

Due to the popularity of this artist we are operating a random draw for tickets.

You can apply for tickets at any time until Tuesday 28 August at 4pm.

You can apply for a maximum of two tickets per household.

Please note that often people apply for free audience tickets and then don't use them. As a result, we are forced to distribute more tickets than there are places to ensure that we have a full studio audience. This system works on a first-come first-served basis on the day, and unfortunately it does mean that even if you get a ticket it does not guarantee you entry. In applying for tickets you signify acceptance of this condition.

Tickets will be allocated randomly with 50% going to Sheffield and Rotherham postcodes.

Please note that, as part of the audience for this concert, you may be filmed.
In applying for tickets you are agreeing to your contact details being passed to the production team, who may contact you in advance of the event."

Good old BBC. It is just over the border in bandit country, off the M1 at Meadowhall junction.

I know there's not much chance of getting a ticket, but my excitement level about this is
off the feckin' scale! http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/templates/exposion_dark/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/templates/exposion_dark/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/templates/exposion_dark/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/templates/exposion_dark/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/templates/exposion_dark/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/templates/exposion_dark/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif

Magna? Never thought of that one! Should be interesting. Looks like the Big Hall (if that's where its going to be) has a similar capacity to the City Hall so plenty of room but looks like its receiving a fair bit of publicity - its even made the Selby Times

Once went to a Radio Sheffield christmas concert at Magna - it was perishing - but we've survived the cave so I reckon we'll be fine.

That short vid is awesome. can't wait to hear the full gig.
If it's anything like the Elbow & BBC Concert Orchestra gig it will be amazing.

I applied for tickets and I am not sure if I can get there. I will of course if I get the tickets. I will be in Glastonbury on the Friday morning but heading up North that day. I don't think I have ever been to Rotherham.
