Ok, so. The Dickster has suggested, rather brilliantly I thought, that we meet in the bar at Wilton's Music Hall, which is about 20 mins walk away from the Troxy. Am suggesting from 6 onwards to give us time for gin and chat. Dickie and his lovely lady will be there, as will I, Josie I think is up for it too. All would be jolly welcome. Provided you're not in any way mad.

so I take it there is a 'mad quota' with you and Dickie taking up both available spaces ? or are you flogging those on ebay for gin money ? I might be there, or maybe West Meath,

Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

I don't mean zany, eccentric, outspoken, off the wall, dotty mad. I mean deranged, disturbed, schizoid, psycho, stalker mad. And Eoin, you are an administrator here, I assume you know what kind of mad I mean... But it would be nice to see you if you do make it. x

Of all the gin joints in all the world... the Saturday before yer man and the Thursday after (I suspect, with a bit of cage fighting inbetween), The Troxy is putting on a Future Cinema show of Casablanca, where the venue is being turned into Rick’s Café Américain, staff dress up in 1940s clothes and you can dance to Benoit Viellefon and his orchestra. It's a pretty elaborate doo – they did Bugsy Malone the other year where they showed the film and then the audience had a massive food fight.

They've obviously gone to a lot of trouble.

Maybe some of you lot should come down early...

Helen - I shall be seeing RH at Leamington on 21 Feb. But re the Troxy, I am thinking of seeing the Gaslight Anthem there over the Easter weekend, in addition to seeing them in Bristol the week before. What are the circle table seats at the Troxy like? It sounds a bit odd, to be seated at a table with folk you've never met before (I shall be on my own), and do you have to sit looking at the stage side-on rather than straight ahead?

I have no idea! They lay things out differently depending on what they've got on. But I should think you get a pretty decent view wherever you are. Especially from the bar...
