After becoming an avid Richard Hawley fan around 2009/10. Today is the first oppurtunity I've ever had to see Richard live. I haven't slept all night for excitement, like a kid at Christmas. Cannot bloody wait. Any road, if anybody is venturing out to this gig tonight, I can highly recommend the Philharmonic Dining Rooms for tea or a pre gig pint. John Lennon said, one of the worst things about fame for him was not being able to pop in to the Phil for a pint before gigs. It also has some lovely marble urinals in the mens... :p

I'll be there. Not great seats but who cares? I'll BE there! Richard, really looking forward to you raising the roof with that fabulous sound. It'll be my husband's first time. (Does that make him a Hawley virgin?) I'm gradually converting him. :) :)

Hope you get here Jan. We are up in the Circle at the back. I was able to get out of work early. We still got delayed in traffic.

I got there .... Eventually. I left my ticket at home, so my other half rushed into Liverpool, bless him!
Managed to get into the Philharmonic just before the interval. Fabulous gig with just one disappointment - Richard got a fit of the giggles at the beginning of Soldier On and couldn't, in fact, soldier on! At the "bells I hear them ring" bit, someone set off a ring tone .... However, the rest of the night more than made up for the omission, so all forgiven :*: :*: :*: :*:

Richard and the lads were on top form, the sound was spot on and there was yet more wonderful guitar porn :Hoorah ..>

PS Marie Happe - the 31 gigs have been over a number of years! The first one cost £6 :*: :*:

Brilliant version of I'm on nights, not one i ever expected to hear live, by far and away the highlight of the show for me. The snippet of lonely night before tonight.. was a great surprise too, its nice that mr h mixes it up a bit rather than sticking with exactly the same set as last year, it's really exciting hearing the guys strike up a song that you've not heard played live before, and its good for the fans who go to a lot of shows, so thanks richard, and for the dedication to the dockers, top man 8) really enjoyed there's a storm coming too. Always good watching richard at the Phil, don't seem to have the problem there with people talking during songs compared to some other venues.

I never learn - don't go to Liverpool over the Runcorn Bridge - use the M62....

2hrs to get there and 45 minutes to get back.

Arrived 10 minutes before kick off so went straight to our seats.

I don't know if the bell bit was a ring tone or one of those theatre bells warning you to get to the stage - as the ringing seemed to come from behind the stage - or as you say Jan a ring tone - anyway it was a laugh but it buggered up Soldier On.

It was a neat night - first time on the front row ever at the Philharmonic - the bass takes on a physical presence as you feel it in your chest - lovely...

And although I tried to keep my eyes open throughout - I had lapses of closing them and going off to some place in my head - which could well be off putting especially as I reckon there was half a dozen older guys on the front row doing the same.

High lights for me were the old ones dropped in there Lonely Night I'm on Nights - and a full on There's a Storm Coming - but it was all good - even the music before and post gig Slade T Rex Dr Feelgood!
