Don't get too excited:

DJ Set: Richard Hawley

Please note: Richard Hawley will be playing a DJ set only. This is a matinee event.

Bum - that scuppers my post on the vinyl release topic... still want a record player for Christmas though...

I wouldn't have made Hull - as that weekend I'm booked for Ian Hunter at Shepherds Bush Empire - but thought a mini tour to coincide with the vinyl release was on the cards...

You wanna watch them DJ sets too. I went to one at the End of the Road, dancing in the woods in the dark in my flip flops, feeling smug that I'm out in the middle of the night, having fun, like a grown-up. But then a few days later, my back goes, and I get some kind of sickness bug, probably picked up from some unsanitary sanitary arrangments. Nothing quite hurts like not being able to bend over when you're chucking up. So beware, they are a bad thing, not to be attempted without adult supervision and make sure you leave before the last bus. xxx

Me and the mrs really looking forward to this now, especially as the added bonus of paul heaton playing a set has been revealed! Plus one of my best pals is doing a bit of poetry beforehand.

Richard, just remember when djing in hull it is essential that your collection has the rude version of superman by paper lace.

Beers in the queens before hand if you are partaking squire.

Top, top night last night. Heaton & the band were superb and some fantastic tunes being spun by DJ Hawley.

Was great to meet you Richard and thank you for contributing your services to a special place - there's not enough of them; I hope you enjoyed the evening! ..>

Bobby
