Sounds like a good evening if you can take away the over active bowels and what not.

Can anyone tell me if Fionn Regan mentioned anything about touring or a new album by any chance ? The guy is such a rare talent and has been far too quiet of late. Doesn't have much of an active social media presence as such, his last album dropped pretty unexpectedly as a result.

Fionn was really good, but no album mentioned and there was no merchandise from him (and for Richard it was just the most recent albums and 7" vinyl).

Any recommendations of the best Fionn to purchase?

All of his albums are a little different but my own preference is for 100 Acres Of Sycamore. I think it's him at his best as a songwriter both lyricially and melodicially, to me it's his finest collection of songs and his voice sounds magnificent... lots of strings and a shiny more polished production but he makes it work.. The Staves also sing some fine fine harmonies on some of the songs..

If you do like him he is really worth investigating.. all four of his albums are quite different although the quality each record as a stand alone album is without fault in each case...

Above everyone my mind kind of doesn't comprehend how he is not lauded more then he actually is... I mean people are creaming themselves over other songwriters over here.. people like fucking Glen Hansard and Damien Rice and the likes... OK it's not a competition but he in my view is twice the songwriter and as a musician... nobody has ever impressed or captivated me as in.. one bloke on a stage playing acoustic guitar alone and singing than probably Fionn Regan in terms of his beaitiful songs, voice and guitar playing ability... he should be fucking huge... I don't know the guy and he sure as hell isn't pushing his own agenda for whatever reason but good luck to him...

Glen has been around a while and deserves his success he just doesn't do an awful lot for me personally but I wouldn't begrudge him doing well... I was more referencing him in terms of artists that are revered vs the strange trajectory that Fionn's career seems to have taken despite his huge talent but maybe he is quite comfortable about not pursuing all the things that come with being successful these days such as massive tours, media, record company lip service etc... either way I just try and enjoy the records...

RH and band were fantastic again, last Thursday.
It was such a full and rich sound, I loved it.
I love Time Will Bring You Winter and Down in the Woods. This time I thought it was some 'free style' on the guitar by RH which for me could go for ever :)

I still find it amazing that the band can play songs like I Still Want You, What Love Means etc with such intimacy in a big place like the Southbank.
All these praise, will it ever stop :)

Oh and I secretly was hoping Guy Garvey would pop up and play some along...

It was a fantastic night & I can't remember her name but the young lady playing violin was great too.
I was going to mention about so many people getting up for the loo etc but I see I'm not the only one to have noticed it. Full respect to the staff at festival hall though, they wouldn't let anyone re-enter while Richard was mid song, only at the end of a song. I've not noticed that done at a gig before.
We were sat next to a couple of 'Hawley gig virgins' & behind a couple of guys who've been to nearly as many gigs as us!

In Manchester I noticed too so many people getting up for drinks/loo visits and whatsnot.
Some were right in front of the band...only a 3 meters away.
In Southbank as well.
I always wonder what the band think when they see people moving about in front of them...does it distract? Get it on your nerves? Maybe they think: wow, that is a fat guy :)

The gig was brilliant and the band just seem to get better and better. Thought Down in the Woods was fantastic and of course What Love Means, my alltime fave, sounded so beautiful. Agree about the toilet users/beer buyers - what was going on there? - they all looked on the younger side to me (mind you everyone does these days). Lovely thought to pay tributes to Jo Cox and Dave Swarbrook.
We had a fab evening yet again! York next!
