Lovely night in Castleton, the sound is magnificent in the cavern.

Clive Mellor on mouth organ is a master.
And choosing "The Nights Are Cold", is very Richard.
Remorse Code is one of my favs. so happy camper here.
There porta loos at the bottom of the path up to the cavern but the queues can be long, call at pub first.plenty to choose in Castleton.
Peak Hotel being "interesting", look in the cabinet by the back doors
Richard

Another fab but freezing concert in a cave. Didn't feel any warmer than the December gig :( so wrap up really warm on Sunday.

All credit to support Neil, Richard and the boys for performing so well under those conditions. Not sure if the "hotties" were in use again, or if they were just placed a little more carefully this time around :).

For those going along tomorrow, get there early if you need a seat as only half the area was seated this time around, with the bottom right hand section being standing.

The live cd properly mastered should be going on sale on the Hawley website store in the next few weeks.

Fabulous Sunday gig thank you Richard, Shez, Jon and Clive, not forgetting the marvellous Gordon behind the scenea.

Really enjoyed the mix of old and new, it was so good to hear The Nighta Are Cold, and Remorse Code was sublime.

Loving the new subtle yellow Gretsch, a thing of beauty in appearance and sound.

Now I just need further gigs to look forward to (hint hint :D )

Had a great time at the Devil's Arse last night. Thanks Richard & everyone who made this possible.
Sound was excellent & it wasn't cold at all. I think this is probably my favourite venue :D 8) Good to see some familiar faces again, after quite a gap.

A truly amazing evening I hope I'll never forget. Remorse Code was quite a trip; gorgeous guitars resonating around that stunning space, and a little moment as the closing chords faded where Richard looked down and gave a heart-rending sigh, perhaps of regret and remembrance. No going through the motions here. It was absolutely electric. (Although I can't imagine how off-putting it must be for Richard to have the audience THAT close). What a privilege to have been there. Thank you so very much.

Sunday's Devil's Arse gig was ace. Sound, venue, set and Richard (of course!) all excellent.

Fantastic gig, Nick, Alan and I sat to one side on a bench above Shez so with a good view of all the musicians. We'd queued for a while, catching up on forum gossip, listening to the soundcheck (Mainly Tom Hickox whose voice was resounding down the pathway when I popped to the portaloos (if ever you don't get tickets go and hang around somewhere on the path up to the cavern, you will get to hear! I also spent a fair time opening and closing the gates to let the artists, brewery and merchandisers in (to avoid them opening the side of the gate that needed oiling (scraping nails down a blackboard kind of excrutiating).

Tom was as amazing as I expected him to be, hope he gained a few new fans as he is fantastic, both on record and live.

The main act was, as usual, fabulous and the stand out artist has to be Clive Mellor on harmonica - a truly awesome solo on Leave Your Body . . . . .

Set list

As the Dawn Breaks
Ashes on the Fire
Tonight the Streets are Ours (as usual dedicated to the brexiters)
Standing at the Sky's Edge
Nothing Like a Friend
Thursday PM
Remorse Code (fantabulous guitar break in this one)
Leave Your Body Behind You
Just Like the Rain
For Your Lover Give Some Time (ironic little laugh after 'drink a little less')
The Nights are Cold
Heart of Oak
What Love Means
Son of a Gun

Big thanks to Alan for the lift home and Nick and Julie for the company on the evening.

It sounds like you sat in the same spot we did on Friday night Dawoodcock. Great view of the band from there & a fantastic gig! Great set list & fantastic venue.

We arrived early to find the cave & get our bearings for where to go after a wonder round the village & dinner & just as we were heading back from the cave we saw Richard & the band walking the other way & yes I did do the normal fan thing & ask for a picture & Richard duly obliged. I think I got a little star struck as I couldn't seem to remember if I was from Somerset or Hampshire when we spoke! Thanks for that Richard, it's gathering likes on my Facebook ..>

Also my first visit to the Peak District & I have to say I fell in love with it! We stayed in Buxton as all the B&B's in Castleton were fully booked. Checked out the opera house & gardens there, drove the Snake Road/Pass which has amazing views at every turn & also took the boat trip through the Speedwell Cavern. Definitely an area I'll visit again, 3 days definitely wasn't long enough.
